I am 5
Can you believe I have been rambling on about food for 5 years now?
I have always been obsessed with food, starting when I was just a kid.
My grandmother was the food pusher in the family, and I have turned into her (not a bad thing).
Have a second helping, or I'm insulted.
My dream as a kid was to have my own apartment and kitchen, where I could make and eat as many tuna fish sandwiches as I liked, and down Nestle's Quik chocolate milk until I turned light brown, since my mother restricted my intake because of the high mercury content in tuna (I told you she was ahead of her time).
I couldn't wait to grow up and COOK.
Why I didn't go to culinary school or seek a career in food is beyond me, but I am doing what I love to do now.
Eating, talking, cooking and sharing with you.
It's what I do best (and being bossy).
I enjoy sharing my daily meals and musings with you.
This humble blog started 5 years ago as a way to share my recipes with my friends, so they would stop bothering me, and it turned into a daily chat.
So, I hope you will continue to read until I stop writing (which will probably be never).
I don't have a giveaway this anniversary, however I will share with you a fun fact about me.
My husband has been calling me "Daisy" for 20 plus years.
Why this nickname?, you ask.
Well, my friend Debbie's Italian grandmother couldn't say "Stacey", so she would introduce me as:
"This is Debbie's Jewish friend, Daisy".
and it stuck.
Have a happy and safe 4th of July!

I think that the blog probably is a better fit than cooking school. I've never understood how the students deal with food that they don't like. In school, you need to taste everything...but sweetbreads and some other ones would make me gag. What do you think?
Have a great 4th, Stacey.
HOW CAN THIS BE? FIVE YEARS!???????
OY VEY!!! It's been an education to say the least. You have many talents and most of them come forth in your blog. Thanks for teaching so many of us "how to do it".

You got me to start cooking Thank you!!!
I love your blog, read it everyday, sometimes twice! Thank you for doing it because I know bloggers get little acknowledgement and no money, so we appreciate all you do for free.
Your recipes rock.

Happy Fifth Blog Birthday too. I think your blog is one day older than mine. I didn't even know how to enable the date stamp when I started mine but I remember it was in July and it was before July 4th.
Have a great Independence Day.
