3 years older

This blog is 3 years old today.

Who'd a thunk it that one day I would graduate from being an antiques dealer to a food blogger. (Hmmmm, not sure what kind of elevated status that is).

I went from documenting my recipes so my friends would stop bothering me, to still yelling at my friends that "I have a food blog, don't ask me to plan your party menu!".

To taking pictures with my cell phone camera to taking pictures with just a better cell phone camera.

Boy, has this blog evolved.

I still use the same polka dot format (I hate change), and I have most of the same readers and friends from when I first started out. Nothing like growing a brand.

I blog first thing in the morning and after dinner in the evening, when I have the most creative energy.

I like Tarts on Tuesdays, Crostini on Friday, Meatless Mondays and a cake or 2 on a Saturday. Sunday is my day off.

Not much is going to change here in the 4th year of Stacey Snacks, so I hope you will stay for the ride.

As with all of my blog anniversaries, I am having a giveaway.

3 faithful readers will receive one of my favorite books Frankies' Spuntino Kitchen Companion & Cooking Manual.

Leave a comment telling us your favorite recipe that you have made from this blog Stacey Snacks, (just in case you thought you were at Smitten Kitchen), and if you have never made a recipe, you can still leave a random comment anyway! Winners will be announced on Saturday, July 9.

Thanks for checking out my daily recipes & nonsense over the past 3 years!

Love, Stacey

Hi Stacey - congrats and best of luck in your 4th year! I made your orzo pasta salad this weekend and it was a hit! Very flavorful yet light...got lots of compliments! I personally loved the addition of garbanzo beans and fresh mint.
Congratulations Stacey and happy blog birthday. You've got one of the best blogs around and thank you for your dedication and wonderful recipes.

Speaking of recipes, I love your lamb shanks and also French lentil salad and have made both for my blog. I would have a hard time choosing, but then there's your watermelon and feta salad.....too many choices, too little time.

Stacey' Snacks rocks. My morning doesn't seem right without checking in to see what you've whipped up the night before. Looking forward to another great year.

Well, my dear - this is the only time I'll be able to say you're older than I am, since my blog turns three later in August! Seriously, it's always a joy to wake up to your recipes and you make it hard to choose just one. But since you're the tart queen, I'm going with the leek, prosciutto and gruyere tart.

Good morning Stacey,
Happy 3rd yr. anniversary! Your's is one of the blogs I always check out on a daily basis.
Our fave recipe from you has to be the pasta with chickpeas. I make it at least once a week because my youngest and I love it and it always reminds me of my Italian Mom who made many recipes like this! Simple, delicious and healthy.
On to year 4!
Susan
love your blog! The Shrimp with Roasted Broccoli was a huge hit here. :-) Congratulations!

Happy Anniversary Stacey,

Love your blog! You inspired me to start my own two months ago after leaving the corporate world.

My still favorite recipe (used once a week) is the bacon basket eggs. Although, after making ricotta blueberry cake this past weekend, there may be a tie.

Good luck in year 4.

Happy blog anniversary Stacey!

We luv your Easy Raspberry Buttermilk Cake. I've used it with Blackberries and Blueberries. It's ever so easy and such a delicious cake.

We picked the Blueberries for your BEST Damn Blueberry Ricotta Cake Ever. I forgot to print the recipe on friday, but am ready to make it tonight. Just know from your review and looking at the pictures it's going to be fantastic.

Congrats on three years! I love your blog site because the recipes are always fresh and different. One of my favorite recipes that I've made at least four times is 'the new chicken parmesan.' I made this for my parents back in May and they loved it. This from my mom that believes anything with goat cheese is 'just weird.' :) Thank you!

Happy Anniversary. This is the first blog I have ever subscribed to, and I love it. Lots of favorites;however this weekend I brought Frankie's Meatballs and sauce on our camping trip with friends. Everyone loves them. I use venison, because we always have it on hand. They are THE lightest, tastiest meatballs ever. I am also bringing them to Cape Hatteras in August for our family beach vacation. It makes for an easy first night supper after traveling all day. Love the blog, the pics, everything. Thanks
Colleen
Happy Blogiversary dear Stacey! I love you and your blog! It's always a pleasure to wake up to your creations every morning. How can I pick? Your tarts are always a hit, all your crostini ideas, veggies, pasta, etc. I've made your ricotta stuffed tomatoes a million times and you know about our datenut bread obsession and now that you're a "baker" I adore "your new favorite thing" always. Thank you, thank you, don't change a thing, not even your dots!

Wow Stacey, no way! I feel like you been a part of my family for years. I could swear its been even longer... I'm so happy we've gotten to be friends! I've truly made so many of your dishes, and I adore figs now because of you. But the recipe that stands out is Herb roasted pork loin with mustard vegetables. I made it in addition to my Thanksgiving turkey (I had 45 people) a couple years ago and it was inhaled, while the turkey just picked on! Yes Stace, keep the polka dots. It feels cozy. It feels like home ;)

I'm proud to be a dedicated subscriber from pretty much the very beginning. I've made too many recipes to choose a favorite -- in fact, when I make anything new, my husband always asks, "is this recipe from the other Stacey?" It usually is and I don't know how many people I've referred over the years! Happy Anniversary and here's hoping there's many returns of the day!

Happy 3rd Anniversary, Stacey! I'm so glad to have discovered you in the summer of '09.

When I think of all the incredible recipes you've shared, your family and travel stories, funny commentaries - well, you've been a delight to know. I've learned so much from you! My cookbook collection has grown with the recommendations you've shared! Thank you for it all.

And, I've told my friends and family about you and frequently get: "is this from Stacey?!"

My favorites are the "fantastiQUE" Blueberry Ricotta Cake, which was inhaled yesterday by my family at our 4th of July picnic. My ravenous teen-age nephews split the last piece for their 2nd and it was gone in a flash. Of course, your date bread is wonderful, as are the yummy salads and anything with figs.

Can't resist the summer recipes with basil, tomatoes and fresh veggies. But, my favorite was your '10 recipe titled: "What's for Dinner,'Spicey Honey'? Chicken Thighs"! ha.

Cheers to you for a wonderful 4th year, Stacey!

Love your Passover recipes every year.
Mazel Tov on the success of your blog.
I started reading your blog this past winter so I'm a new fan. I host small group food and wine trips to Sicily, and I have to say that so many of your recipes reflect why I love authentic Sicilian food...seasonal, fairly simple, and well balanced flavors. I loved your roasted cauliflower pesto and have made it several times. Now the BEST Damn Blueberry Ricotta Cake is a new favorite. Will try it next with a mixture of blueberries and raspberries. Keep up the good work and congratulations!

I think I've gained 10 lbs just reading your blog. I salivate every morning wondering what is in store... Tuesday's Tart, Friday's crostini, and weekend cakes Oh My! I love the simplicity and elegance. After reading the recipes I often find myself doing the V-8 head smack and saying, "why didn't I think of that?!!!" Plus, the writing is fab. I think you should be called Sassy Stacey. It gives me a chuckle to read your posts. Thanks! Oh yes. You did ask about favorite recipes... I'll chose one delicious staple: the broccoli bites. I make them all the time as broccoli is our favorite veggie. Then I bake them on a pampered chef stone at high heat. Very healthy, very sneaky way to get veggies into my little girl, and never one left over. Thanks, Stacey for a wonderful blog.

Happy Blog Birthday! I knew as soon as I found your blog that I'd be a faithful reader. I've been in England for the past 2 weeks and just this morning I'm catching up on your posts. I went through Stacey withdrawal! Whether emailing your or reading your comments through your posts, I always love hearing from you. Thank you, Stacey.

I have made many of your recipes, but I must say that the cherry chutney was one of the highlights. Since cherries are in season again soon, I can't wait for a repeat taste. Side note: your best tip ever was the grill pan. That thing is perfect!

Hugs to you~Xoxoxo
Congratulations on 3 yrs! I enjoy reading your posts and recipes:) My favorite that I use all of the time is one you posted last summer for roasted tomato crostini. I use those roasted tomatos in pasta for a quick dinner, as an appetizer, etc. Love them!
