Asian Style Cole Slaw

asian slaw2

I bought a bag of broccoli slaw at the market last week, having no idea what to do with it.

This took 5 minutes to put together and everyone loved it!
It was a colorful cole slaw with an Asian twist.

Broccoli slaw mix has cabbage, broccoli and carrots and is nice and crunchy.

I added a can of drained madarin oranges, chopped green onions, a chopped red bell pepper, cilantro and sliced almonds.

You can make your own ginger dressing by adding the following ingredients:

6 tbsp of rice wine vinegar
6 tbsp canola oil
3 tbsp creamy peanut butter
4 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
1 garlic clove, minced

Mix all dressing ingredients together and add to the cole slaw.
Keeps in the fridge for a few days.

Everyone loved this.

This would make a great low-fat, healthy cole slaw for your summer weekend BBQ!

Enjoy!

Now, that salad is a winner!
Never heard of broccoli slaw in a package or any other way. Leave it to you to dress it up.

I happened upon your blog about 6 months ago, and I just want you to know that----bottom line----you make me happy! I truly love savoring all that there is to enjoy on your blog: the simple commentary, your artful pictures, and the choices of your delicious food. Your cherry chutney was my first attempt at trying your recipes, and I must tell you that it was an incredible hit. Thank you for continuing your quality "work". I wish I lived in NYC because I'd love to go out for coffee with you. I know that we'd be friends.

My coworker's garden is overflowing with cabbage, and luckily she is sharing. I will be making this soon! Great recipe!
I love any asian salad and this sounds fabulous, especially the part about buying the slaw mix, makes whipping it up easy!

Not fond of cole slaw and love Asian slaws and Asian salads. Love all the crunch. The ginger dressing gets a resounding yes!

I made this last night for dinner, pairing it with BBQ'd corn and teriyaki pork chops. My husband and I both had three helpings!! It was fantastic!! I actually think we could eat our shoes if that ginger dressing was on them! YUM!
Thank you yet again for another hit!

Yeah. I'm WEEKS behind in reaching my Food blog RSS feeds. I missed this one, but I'm glad I caught it.
Great recipe, Stace. My husband buys this broccoli slaw all the time. I'm on it, as I'm trimming down during the summer because comfort foods are coming soon.

This is a simple yet tasty slaw!
I made this with sesame seared tuna and it was a perfect match.
I am making this to take to a BBQ because it needs to be shared!
