August Random Bites

Ok, so you know everything about me since I post almost everything I do on instagram, but in case you missed it, here is what has been going on.

We took a nice trip to Nantucket. First time for us.

This is a charming island filled with natural beauty and history, good food and good people.

I took a photography tour to Sconset with Capture Nantucket, and I highly recommend it for the amateur photographer.

We rented a wonderful little cottage with harbor views and beautiful flowers. It was really a wonderful getaway.

Next stop Paris (coming up soon!).

Baking notes:

I made Marie's stone fruit clafoutis. It is your basic clafoutis recipe, but uses plums, peaches and apricots.

I threw in some cherries and blueberries....the more the merrier.
I don't think I have met a clafoutis I didn't love.

I forgot all about Giada's take on Vitello Tonnato.
For those of us who don't eat veal, she uses a turkey breast instead of veal to make a Turkey Tonnato.

It is the best summer entertaining idea, and the leftovers make the best sandwiches the next day.

Recipe here.

Enjoy the rest of August, it is flying by!

I love Nantucket and haven't been there in years. Your sweet cottage and views make me want to return. Your photos are really lovely.

I am fortunate to live in Massachusetts. New England for that matter! The white mountains, cape cod, and of course the islands. Love the pix you took!
