Really Good Turkey Burgers
By now you all know I schkeeve ground turkey.
I can't work with it unless I wear gloves. I know, I'm weird.
However, once a summer I make turkey burgers for the non meat eaters.
These are very similar to the Greek turkey burgers from years back, but have no feta cheese and use more herbs.
These were DELICIOUS.
I piled them with my pickled cucumber salad and mayo on toasted English muffins and everyone loved them, including me.
Let the grilling begin!
Really Good Turkey Burgers: makes 5 burgers
1 lb. of ground turkey meat (ew)
1/4 cup of chopped red bell pepper
handful of chopped kalamata olives
handful of chopped fresh dill
handful of chopped fresh flat leaf parsley
handful of chopped scallions (green onions), using the white parts too
1 tbsp of strong Dijon mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
shake of garlic powder
salt & pepper
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients together.
I use an ice cream scoop for even size patties (plus I don't have to touch the ground turkey!!!).
Form 5-6 patties. Keep refrigerated until ready to grill.
Oil a grill and turn it to medium high.
Grill the burgers for 5-6 minutes on each side.
Pile on toasted English muffins and serve w/ dill mayo and cucumber slices.
I thought these were even better eaten cold the next day!

And unlike regular roast turkey, the stuff they grind (I don’t want to know) has no flavor. So you have added a tone of tasty stuff - and then, for good measure, your excellent salad. Piquancy personified.
Very rascally of you, Stacey…
PS. I found the neatest gloves. Come in a package of 100 for about $10. At hardware/home improvement stores. Disposable. Soft Scrub brand. Intended to protect hands. Nice and thin (sort of like surgical gloves but not as tight).
