Chocolate Bark with the Works

Merry Happy!

Last year it was mendiants, this year it's chocolate bark.

Basically, the same concept, you just melt your favorite chocolate bar and throw some goodies on top.

Let it cool and harden, then break it into big pieces.

I should have posted this recipe before the holidays, but you can still make these. New Year's is almost here and we are still in festive holiday mode for at least another week or so!

Chocolate Bark with Anything and Everything on top: (inspired by Domenica Cooks)

1 lb. bar of dark chocolate (I use Trader Joe's 72%)
handful of candied orange peel
handful of chopped dried figs (of course)
handful of pistachio nuts
handful of chopped Marcona almonds
handful of dried cherries
handful of golden raisins
pinch of sea salt
whte chocolate for the icing

Melt the chocolate (I do this in the microwave in 40 second spurts).

Mix w/ silicone spatula until nice and smooth and pour the chocolate out over a parchment lined baking sheet. Spread to about 1/4" thickness.

Make sure all of your tidbits are layed out, so you can work quickly.

Sprinkle the nuts and fruits on top of the melted chocolate.

Let harden in the fridge (it will firm up quickly).

If desired, melt some white chocolate and drizzle with a fork over the creation.
Srinkle w/ some sea salt and let harden once again.

Break with your hands or a sharp knife.

Keep the bark cool (I always keep mine in the garage).

These are lovely to put out over the holidays or at any time in the cool weather.

Enjoy!
