Au revoir!

Can you believe it is already September?

It's time again to go to Paris for a week of eating and soaking in the beauty of the city.
It never gets old for me.

This trip will be a bit different than previous years. We will be renting an apartment in the quiet residential 8th arrondisement, on the right bank, next to the Petit Palais.

And instead of Provence, we are going to visit the Vallee de l'eure in the North for our side trip. We will be staying in the French countryside for a few days checking out the Gardens at Giverny, the beaches at Normandy and a bit of country life (I doubt it will be like Green Acres in anyway!).

I have some special dinners planned and will be reporting in as much as possible.

See you in Paris!

Have fun in Paris, which we know you will, and enjoy Normandy. We have Normandy on our "to do" list, but it's a long way from Provence as you know. How fun to go to Giverny and see Monet's kitchen & dining room as well as the beautiful gardens. He loved to entertain. Have you read the book "Monet's Table"?

A bientot,
Sam

Oh I know you two lovebirds will have a great vacation. I saw your FB pix where you're both wearing jackets. Is it chilly right now in Paris?

I live in London and wanted to recommend that you try to visit Honfleur in Normandy. Have been there twice, once in September, and once at New Year. Wonderful both times. Also, try to do the Calvados tour in the area, where you tootle around visiting all the Calvados producers, tasting as you go.
Have a wonderful trip! I love the green in Monet's kitchen. It haunts me and I've never been able to find it in a can.
