Good Ideas: Grilled Brussels Sprouts

With all the beautiful produce available during the summer months, I never think to eat Brussels sprouts.

One of my favorite vegetables, I only think about them in the fall and winter months.

I was craving them the other day and decided to grill them. Why not? I grilled broccoli last summer and it was great, so why not the little sprouts?

These might be tricky if you have a grill that flares up, so make sure you set your grill on low and place them on a sheet of foil or they will burn to a crisp.
I have an infrared grill that has no flame so I didn't need to place the vegetables on foil, I just kept my grill temp on low.

Trim the ends off the sprouts and slice each one in half.
Toss them with some olive oil and kosher salt, make sure you coat each piece.

Place them on the grill and keep an eye on them so they don't burn, about 6 minutes on each side.

Transfer to a bowl and drizzle with some truffle oil or a splash of balsamic vinegar.

Delicious!

I will be light posting this week, but stay tuned tomorrow for a 4th year anniversary giveaway and Militant Garden updates this week!

I grilled some up along with carrots, corn, broccoli and two racks of ribs last nite!
I don't have an infrared grill but I bet I could toss them in my wok pan for the grill, can't wait to give it a try!

These look gorgeous, what a great idea! I always think of sprouts as fall-winter veggies, but I know I would love them this way.

We broil our BS in the oven for the same effect. They never make it to the table, the kids grab their forks and eat them right off the cookie sheet.
