Random Bites in December

I was invited to the Viking Appliance Holiday Party held at the Food Network studios in NYC. The food was delicious and we got to take a tour of the new set for $10 dinners w/ Melissa D'Arabian, which was GORGEOUS.

It looks like a real home, with sunny windows and gorgeous cabinets and appliances, but it's all just a set.

They served great passed hors d'oevres and had a beautiful cheese platter as well as a huge board of Italian cured meats.

I also got to meet Ted Allen from the Food Network show CHOPPED & Food Detectives (& Queer Eye for the Straight Guy). What a super guy!

For a quick dinner this week, I made Pam's delicious, Korean pork tenderloin.

To go with it, I cut up a head of cauliflower, roasted it at 425F with kosher salt and olive oil till brown.

Toss with a little more olive oil, a handful of golden raisins and a tablespoon of capers. Finish with a dash of crushed red pepper.

SO GOOD!

You did go to that event! I'm so glad. Also glad to hear it was fun. I love Ted Allen but not as much as I love roasted cauliflower. I can eat a whole head of it by myself.
Look at you, hob nobbing with the celeb's! I'm jealous! Happy Hanukkah my friend.

How fun! I'd love to see the FN kitchens and I'm a fan of Ted Allen! Um, did you see Tyler Florence? Does he remember meeting me? Great recipes, by the way. I was too distracted at your celeb sighting! What fun.

This sounds very good. I have made a few pork tenderloins over the past couple months as they are so easy. Looking forward to trying this one!
