Paris: Let Them Eat Cake! (& Bread!)
We are here, in the beautiful city of light.
I am a pain to travel with because I have to stop in every boulangerie (bakery) on every block. I can't help myself. The window displays call me in.
Not only do I love to go inside the boulangeries & patisseries for what beauty awaits me inside, but I love the outside facades just as much.
The most important thing to Parisians, besides wine, is their daily bread.
A daily baguette from your very own boulangerie in your very own neighborhood, each one baked just a little differently (I still can't tell the difference, they all taste great to me).
There are the most gorgeous murals and antique hanging trade signs outside these establishments, along with Art Nouveau painted windows and beautiful gilded details. Each one is unique and filled with history.
More tomorrow from this beautiful city...........I am going to eat my bread with sweet French butter now.

Their pastries are really good. The guy is Alsatian (yes, I'm a monomaniac. Remember to go to Pierre Hermé's, Rue Bonaparte, and have a Plaisir Sucré (hazelnut and chocolate heaven)!
Off to packing.... Je t'embrasse!
