Good Ideas: Prosciutto Wrapped Grissini

breadsticks2

When you don't want guests filling up on appetizers before dinner, which so often happens, only make one hors d'oevres.

Put out a wedge of good cheese and bread and end it there.

Here is a good idea when you want your guests to nibble while you are getting the dinner ready, without getting too full.
Serve with wine and maybe hunks of good Parmigiano Reggiano and you are done.

Wrap a slice of Prosciutto di Parma around a good Italian breadstick, also known as a grissini.

If you want to be fancy, place a pitted Gaeta olive on the top of each breadstick.

I buy the rosemary flavored grissini from Italy, and everyone gobbles them up.
Serve with a nice glass of crisp Pinot Grigio and you are set!

The parmigiana and grissini is a very good idea for a no-fuss munchie to have with drinks. What is the brand of those grissini? They look like the ones I love in Italy but can't find here.
Perfect presentation - just like edible swizzle sticks!
I totally agree with you about 1 good appetizer I do that myself, otherwise all the main food hardly gets touched. I had to train my appetizer loving family, especially on Holidays! Good choice Stace, I like the olive idea.

You are so right about the appy's... I love them myself, and have to remember not to make too many otherwise dinner won't be eaten by my guests! This looks like a great nibble while dinner is finishing up.

Heh, I don't think any of the people I know are cultured enough to serve appetizers. But those look great! :D
