Random Food Bites

Here are some out takes from this week's feasting.

Every winter morning I start my day with half of a ruby red grapefruit.
Though I am not a grapefruit lover, it is the healthiest thing I eat during my day.

We had some of the best pizza I have had in years at Arturo's on W. Houston St. in the West Village.
Arturo's has one of the last coal ovens in nyc and has been on the same corner for 50 years. We shared an amazing bacon pie with some of our favorite foodies, Claire & Stephane.

Some more healthy eating (don't worry, I counteract that each day with a piece of cake). My roasted salmon on asparagus.

I made my delicious eggplant stacks layered with fresh mozzarella, basil and roasted peppers & fresh tomatoes. Always a hit.

The big eaters out having fun, chasing away the winter doldrums.

We are so lucky with pizza places in Minneapolis. We have a local chain of wood fired pizza places & we just got a new coal fired place which is supposed to be amazing

You and Henry look so cute together! Last night we ordered Middle Eastern food and we had baba ganouj which gave me that funny feeling in my mouth and I immediately thought of you.

I should really start the day with fruit too... but what are the chances of that happening? ;)

Oh, I forgot to say... when I saw the glass of wine in the first pic and then started reading "I start my day out with half..." I thought you were going to say you start the day with a half glass of wine! LOL

What I'd like to know is how do you eat that much delicious food and stay so slim? Loved the pic of you two and the dog too. very cute.

Hehehe.

See, I wasn't crazy. You really don't look your age. I can only hope I end up the same way!

I wish I'd known about that pizza place before going to NY last November. That was my big disappointment in the trip: not getting proper pizza. :(

That salmon looks awesome, right amount of topping.

As for pizza...noted to taste on my next NYC visit.
